If you’re a fan of Miffy & Friends by Dutch artist Dick Bruna, then you must visit the Miffy Café Busan.

This was one of the places I was most excited about visiting, as it looked so whimsical.

You can step into Miffy’s world to enjoy a coffee and cake in the café. Then, browse their Miffy Shop to buy exclusive merchandise.

There are also endless cute photo opportunities and a panoramic view of Busan harbour. It’s a wonderful place to spend a couple of hours.

It was easily one of the highlights of my trip, and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Here is a complete guide to Miffy Café Busan and whether it’s worth visiting.

Miffy Cafe Busan

Where is the Miffy Café Busan?

The Miffy Café in Busan is quite far away from the main attractions on Yeongdo Island.

It’s also located on a steep hillside. So, it’s best to take the metro & bus or pay for a taxi to get here.

  • By public transport: Take the metro to Nampo Station on Busan Metro Line 1 and then take a bus. The Intra-city Bus number 9 stops at Lotte Nakcheondae Apartment. Or, take local shuttle bus number 5.
  • By taxi: depending on your location, it may be more convenient to take a taxi to save time. Uber works well, and trips are very affordable. This is what I did to avoid switching public transit three or four times.

Arriving at Miffy’s World

You really can’t miss Miffy Café Busan as it is a massive bright orange building on the hillside.

The colour scheme is reminiscent of a Dick Bruna storybook, and this Miffy universe has four floors to explore.

As you’re so high up in Busan, you can enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the city and waterfront below.

This enchanting place honestly took my breath away, and I couldn’t wait to head inside.

Do you need a reservation?

Unfortunately, you can’t make a reservation for the Miffy Café Busan.

It’s a case of showing up and waiting for a table to become available on the day.

Miffy is a super popular character in South Korea, and this café often goes viral on social media.

So, I recommend getting here right at opening time (11 am) for the best experience.

I got here around 10.30 am and was the first in line. By the time they opened, a big queue had formed behind me.

Inside the Miffy Café Busan

The Miffy Café in Busan is huge, and there is a lot to do here on your visit.

It’s so colourful and enchanting, and it feels like you’re wandering through the pages of a Dick Bruna storybook!

The first floor is spacious and has a huge counter where you can order drinks and cakes.

There is limited seating on this floor and some outdoor tables with lovely views on a sunny day.

They do have some plush toys on display here, but you can only purchase items in the Miffy store.

If you head upstairs to the second floor, you’ll find two sides of the café with whimsical seating available. Each with colourful Miffy artwork.

As you make your way up the stairs, you’ll find more Miffy decor that makes for a great photo opportunity.

The third floor has a display gallery filled with Miffy items, and the top floor is a panoramic rooftop terrace.

What do they serve on the menu?

Busan’s Miffy Café has an entire range of Miffy drinks and pastries on its menu.

You can order hot or cold drinks, and they are served in either a Miffy glass or a mug.

They have some regular drinks like Americano, latte and matcha. But also some signatures like their Miffy Latte made with toffee nut.

The hot drinks come with Miffy artwork on the foam, and the cold drinks often have a Miffy-shaped biscuit perched on the whipped cream.

They also had a range of pastries to purchase, including a Mocha Bun, Salted Bread and Hazelnut Chocolate Cake.

I ordered an Iced Americano on my visit with a Miffy Tiramisu Cake. After, I ordered their iced Plum & Peach Ade, which was tasty.

With every order, they give you a free Miffy coaster of your choice to take home. It was so cute and made a great souvenir.

I chose Mother Bunny. But they had all of her friends to choose from, including Poppy Pig and Boris.

Miffy Café Busan rooftop

One of the best parts of visiting the Miffy Café Busan is relaxing on the panoramic rooftop.

Their terrace has plenty of tables set up to enjoy the vista, and you’ll find some cut-outs of Miffy & Friends to join you.

If I’m being honest, on the day of my visit, it was far too hot to sit on the rooftop. So, I desperately sought some shade.

I’m sure if you visit at sunset, the temperature will be perfect to enjoy the views with a Miffy drink in hand.

Exploring the Busan Miffy Shop

After you’ve finished your drinks in the Miffy Café, don’t leave without visiting the Busan Miffy Shop.

It’s underground, and the entrance can be found directly in front of the café.

It is filled with all sorts of cute photo opportunities and endless Miffy merchandise.

You’ll find books, toys, blind boxes, stationery, electronics and more. There were even knitted Miffy toys from the Netherlands.

Exclusive Miffy in Busan keychains

One of the reasons why I was so excited to visit the Miffy Busan Store was to shop for their exclusive Miffy keychains.

The collection is called Miffy in Busan, and these plush bag charms are only sold here. It’s the only place in the entire world where you can get them.

They have a Jagalchi Market Miffy collection featuring Miffy, Boris the Bear and Poppy Pig. Plus, a keychain of her wearing a Miffy in Busan t-shirt.

However, the one I was most eager to purchase was Marine Miffy and Boris in their latest collection.

I was very lucky on my visit, as they had them in stock. As they are very popular collector’s items, they do often sell out.

As well as the keychains, they have lots of other Miffy merchandise to browse.

Photos with Miffy

After you’ve done some serious damage to your wallet in the Miffy shop, don’t leave without taking some cute photos around the store.

This whimsical place has many photo zones to capture beautiful photos with Miffy and her friends.

There is even a giant blow-up Miffy in the centre of the room, which is so cute!

It’s a dream for Miffy fans, and I could have spent hours in here as it was all so enchanting.

Not only are there four floors of Miffy’s world to explore, but they have a beautiful shop filled with cute photo zones and merchandise.

Even more Miffy in South Korea

If you love Miffy & Friends, then you are in for a treat in South Korea.

She is a really popular character here, and there are special stores dotted around the country.

At the time of writing, you can find Miffy stores in Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island, Gyeongju and Geoje Island.

I visited (almost) all the Miffy shops and cafés in South Korea during my travels to collect the merchandise.
