Eva Air Hello Kitty Flight – Fly on the World’s Cutest Sanrio Jet!

Sanrio fans, did you know that you can book a Hello Kitty flight with Eva Air? 

It’s an adorable service with a Hello Kitty aircraft, Sanrio amenities, themed meals and kawaii merchandise. 

As a huge Sanrio fan, I have had the Hello Kitty Jet on my bucket list for years. 

So, I was over the moon to finally make it happen to start my adventures through Taiwan. 

It really took the anxiety out of a 14-hour long-haul journey through the sky, and I would book it again in a heartbeat. 

Here is what it’s like to fly on the Hello Kitty flight, including important tips on how to book!

What is the Eva Air Hello Kitty flight?

Eva Air partnered with Sanrio in 2013 to create the cutest flights in the entire world. 

They made six adorable jet planes featuring Sanrio characters that fly in and out of Taiwan.

The flight paths range from short distances, such as Seoul and Cebu, to long-haul routes, such as Paris and Chicago. 

There are currently six Hello Kitty Jets in Eva Air’s fleet, and each has Sanrio branding, themed amenities, flight uniforms, meals and merchandise. 

It’s a dream come true for any Sanrio fan and means you arrive at your destination in style. 

Where does the Hello Kitty plane fly to?

There are currently six Hello Kitty jets, and all of these fly to different destinations from Taiwan:

How do you book a Hello Kitty flight? 

I did see a lot of people say online that getting a Hello Kitty flight is ‘luck of the draw’, but that simply isn’t true.

When booking a flight with Eva Air, you can guarantee that you will board the Sanrio aeroplane by booking the right day/flight number.

Of course, it isn’t going to obviously state ‘Hello Kitty Jet’ when booking. 

But when looking up flights on Eva Air’s website or a flight search engine like Skyscanner, it does include the flight number. 

So, if you want to fly on the Hello Kitty plane, make sure to search on a day it’s running and select the correct flight number when booking. 

You can use my easy table above to find the Hello Kitty flight numbers and operation days.

For example, I wanted to fly from Paris to Taipei. So, I looked for the Hello Kitty jet flight number BR88 on a Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday.

How much does it cost to fly on the Hello Kitty plane?

The great thing about Eva Air Hello Kitty flights is that they don’t cost any more than a normal flight service. 

Obviously, the price of these flights varies depending on the destination, cabin class or travel dates.

But you can be assured that all of these Sanrio features don’t come at a premium. You’ll pay the exact same as the standard fare.

There are lots of kawaii perks that you get for flying on the Sanrio aeroplane.

It’s a dream come true for Sanrio fans, and the fact that these come at no extra cost is truly amazing. 

What is it like flying on the Hello Kitty Plane?

When I was planning my adventures to Taiwan, I was so excited for my trip.

The only thing I was anxious about was the fact that I had to take a long-haul flight there. 14 hours to be exact. 

The anxiety of this journey was getting to me. Then, one day, when I was scrolling through social media, I saw someone else felt the same.

They had booked a Hello Kitty flight from Paris to Taipei to help with their nerves, and so I decided to do the same.

Next thing I know, I had booked the Hello Kitty Jet to Taiwan! 

Instead of nervous, I was elated as I would be flying there in style and making a dream of mine come true in the process.

Exclusive Sanrio boarding pass

Even before I got on the plane, I was excited. When I checked in for the Hello Kitty flight, I got to download my exclusive Sanrio boarding pass!

It featured Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin and My Melody.

When I finally checked in at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, I received a physical boarding pass that I could keep as a souvenir. 

You could also get some Hello Kitty Eva Air luggage tags, which I snapped up so fast.

In fact, the staff were happy to give me a few of them to keep as they could see how excited I was about them. 

Unlike other airports that host Eva Air, Charles de Gaulle Airport didn’t have a Hello Kitty-themed area or shop in the terminal.

They also didn’t have any Hello Kitty-shaped boarding pass machines, which was a shame.

Boarding the aircraft 

It was a rather drizzly day in Paris when I was due to fly to Taipei. So, it really cheered me up when I finally saw the Hello Kitty jet in person.

It was so adorable and featured all my favourite characters. Everyone at the gate was so excited and taking pictures of the aircraft.

Instead of dreading the next 14 hours, I found I was eagerly waiting to board. 

I’m not usually a fan of long-haul flights, but the prospect of flying on this Sanrio aeroplane took the anxiety out of the journey. 

Inside the Hello Kitty Jet

I have to admit, when I boarded the aircraft, I was a little disappointed. 

We didn’t have any Hello Kitty seat covers like other planes. There were also no Hello Kitty cushions or goodie bags with Sanrio amenities.

I had also seen that other flights had Hello Kitty-shaped safety cards and sick bags. But there were none of those things on board my flight. 

Even the safety video wasn’t the Sanrio version that I had seen on other people’s videos on social media. 

At this point, I wasn’t sure if we were going to get the same in-flight perks as the other Hello Kitty jets.

Hello Kitty drinks & snacks

Fortunately, despite the lack of kawaii decor, we did have some of the promised Hello Kitty features on board during the flight service. 

Around an hour into the journey, we were served some drinks and snacks featuring Hello Kitty. 

It was a pink bag of mixed nuts and rice crackers with Hello Kitty on the front. 

Our drinks were also served in Sanrio Character cups featuring Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompom and My Melody.

I loved the fact that the staff were wearing pink uniforms with Hello Kitty on them too.

Later, we were served our main meal for the flight.

Again, I was a little disappointed to see that none of the food or packaging was Hello Kitty themed.

However, the tray sheet below was adorable and featured Sanrio characters, and we were again served drinks in a themed cup.

We also received a Hello Kitty wet wipe and these cute pink utensils featuring Kuromi, My Melody and Hello Kitty. 

They were good quality and made of thick plastic. I definitely wiped these down after my meal and kept them in my handbag!

During the flight, they do sell some Eva Air Hello Kitty souvenirs that you can purchase from their Eva Sky Shop.

They sell miniature versions of their Hello Kitty Jets if you want to purchase one as a souvenir. 

I also saw that they sold Hello Kitty toiletry bags, umbrellas, tote bags, and even plane-shaped night lights!

Is booking the Hello Kitty Jet worth it?

As a fan of Hello Kitty, I definitely think booking the Hello Kitty Jet plane is worth the money.

Although our flight didn’t have the same features as others, I still thought it was an adorable experience.

I get really anxious with long-haul flying, and so having these whimsical things to look forward to on the journey really helped. 

If you get the chance to book a Hello Kitty plane, take the opportunity with both hands!

Tips for booking an EVA Air Hello Kitty Flight

• Hello Kitty Jets only fly on certain days of the week, so make sure to check and book the right flight number before you purchase. 

• Eva Air can change the aircraft at a moment’s notice without warning if there are any technical issues, etc.

• Each Hello Kitty aircraft is different on the inside, and some have more features than others, so manage expectations.
