Things to know before visiting Hungary
- If you’re from Europe, you do not need a visa for short tourist trips to Hungary. You can stay for a maximum of 90 days.
- You can book train tickets through the local transport website Mavcsoport. It’s easy to book and is in English.
- Don’t just stay in Budapest. There are countless amazing destinations you can visit away from the capital city.
- Hungary is generally a very safe country to visit. There is some pickpocketing in the major cities so be aware.
- Budapest is a party capital and the ruin bars are phenomenal. Just watch your things and be careful of drink spiking.
