The Amman Citadel, exploring Petra, camping in Wadi Rum and swimming in the Dead Sea were all incredible experiences that I cherish. Things to know before visiting Jordan
- You can buy a single entry visa on arrival when you land in Jordan and these are valid for one month.
- I recommend purchasing the Jordan Pass which gets you a visa and entry to many attractions including Petra.
- It’s best to drive around as public transport is limited. You can read my advice for driving in Jordan here.
- Try to avoid the ‘Jack Sparrow’ guides in Petra, they prey on women and will scam you out of money.
- Don’t shave before you head into the Dead Sea – it will sting so bad as it’s 10x saltier than ordinary seawater!
