Things to know before visiting Slovakia
- You do not need a visa for short tourist trips to Slovakia. You can stay for a maximum of 90 days visa-free.
- You can book train tickets through the local transport website ZSSK. It’s in English and easy to use.
- Slovakia is a very safe country to visit but there is a bit of petty theft in the major cities so watch your things.
- Bratislava is the main destination but I would urge you to spend more than a day here and visit other areas too.
- You can easily visit Austria in less than an hour by train from the capital!
