Now I’m a bit older, I visit historic cities for their incredible castles, art and architecture. Spain is an incredibly diverse country with cities, islands, forests, mountains, beaches and desert. Things to know before visiting Spain
- You do not need a visa for short tourist trips to Spain. You can stay for a maximum of 90 days visa-free.
- You can book train tickets through Renfe. It’s in English and easy to use. Or, you can even use the Trainline app.
- Spain is a safe country to visit but there is a lot of pickpocketing, especially in Barcelona. Watch your stuff!
- All tap water is considered safe to drink in Spain but on the coast and islands it may be better to buy drinking water.
- Barcelona is experiencing high numbers of tourists at the moment and there are local anti-tourism protests.
