Tangled fans, did you know that The Snuggly Duckling is REAL and you can visit it in Tokyo DisneySea?

That’s right, there is a Tangled restaurant in the Fantasy Springs area that will transport you straight to the magical world of the movie.

You can munch on tasty fare while singing about your dreams in a rustic tavern!

As a huge fan of Tangled (mostly the charmer Flynn Rider), this place was my dream come true, and it honestly felt surreal dining there.

Here is a review of The Snuggly Duckling and whether the Tangled restaurant is worth visiting.

What is The Snuggly Duckling?

If you’re a fan of Tangled, then this tavern needs no further introduction.

But, if you’re new here, The Snuggly Duckling is a pub near Rapunzel’s tower in the woods.

Despite the cute name, it’s seedy and hosts many of Corona’s thugs and thieves who use it as a hideout.

Flynn takes Rapunzel here on their journey to rest, but he’s almost captured as he’s a wanted criminal.

Rapunzel later charms the brutes, and they all sing a song called “I have a dream”.

Visit the Tangled Restaurant at Tokyo DisneySea

If you have ever had a dream to visit the Tangled Tavern in real life, then I have some good news for you, my friend.

The Snuggly Duckling is now a real restaurant located in Tokyo DisneySea!

It’s every Tangled fan’s wish fulfilled, and you should grab the opportunity with both hands (or, hooks).

Important information about visiting

  • The Snuggly Duckling can be found in the Fantasy Springs area.
  • It’s counter service, and it’s HUGE. It can seat up to 620 people.
  • You can only visit with proof of a Mobile Order through the Tokyo Disney Resort app (but these were easy to get on the day).

Inside the Tangled restaurant

This Tangled Tavern is a dream come true for fans and feels like you’ve stepped into the world of the movie.

You can just imagine thugs and brutes in here enjoying a pint and then breaking out into song.

Every corner of this restaurant has Tangled references to enjoy. You could spend hours finding them all.

You can sit by a cosy fireplace in the mess room, or by the piano on stage. But my favourite room was the one with Rapunzel’s paintings.

This area had the most gorgeous murals of characters from the movie. The large one of Rapunzel, Pascal and Maximus was particularly charming.

Look out for colourful flower crowns, wedding posters, portraits, and flags from the film. It all makes you feel a part of that world.

What’s on The Snuggly Duckling’s menu?

The food on The Snuggly Duckling menu isn’t particularly inspiring compared to the incredible theming.

It’s mainly burgers, but they also have some exclusive drinks and desserts on offer.

Here’s what you can order at the Tangled restaurant;

Duckling’s Dream Burgers

The main meals are burgers and fries, and you have a choice of the Duckling’s Dream Burger or Cheeseburger.

They looked…pretty awful with the rubber-looking mystery meat layer (it’s meant to be ham), and I hadn’t heard great things about the taste.

So, I decided to go for the Fried Shrimp Burger, and this was really tasty.

Japan, on the whole, does seafood incredibly well, so I knew this was more of a safe bet.

It came on a soft yellow bun, the shrimp was plump, the burger had a good crunch, and the sauce was zingy.

It was no frills, but after a full park day, I wasn’t after a fancy meal. I just needed something quick and filling.

The presentation was nice with the Snuggly Duckling trays. I also thought the wrapper was really creative with ‘The Snuggly Duckling’ on it.

If you’re a vegan or vegetarian, they do have a Plant-Based Burger option if you’re not a meat lover. A rarity in Japan.

With every burger order, you have the opportunity to order the exclusive Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival lunch case as a souvenir.

Rapunzel’s Magical Milk Tea

The Snuggly Duckling also offers an exclusive drink that you can only get at this Tangled restaurant in Tokyo.

It’s Rapunzel’s Magical Milk Tea, a layered sweet tea drink topped with a healthy dose of cream foam and mango glitter.

They didn’t provide much information on the menu about the flavour or what was in it. So, the tapioca balls at the bottom were a surprise to me.

I have to admit, it wasn’t my favourite as it was quite sweet and I can’t stand ‘bits’ in my drink. But I’m glad I tried it.

Snuggly Duckling Muffin

The thing that really saves the menu at The Snuggly Duckling is the sweet treats they have on offer.

The first time I visited, it started raining, so we quickly got a Mobile Order of the Snuggly Duckling Muffin and iced coffee to take shelter here.

The muffin was really yummy, filled with caramel and dulce de leche, and I loved how it had a duckling wrapper and biscuit topper.

You can also order their signature Sweets Ever After dessert served in a smaller version of Rapunzel’s legendary frying pan.

It’s a lemon & strawberry flavour bread and looks Instagrammable with the colourful flowers from her braid.

With each cupcake or sweets order, you have the option of purchasing the Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival souvenir plate.

These miniature Disney dishes are SO cute but also fabulous quality. I collected a few of these in different restaurants at Tokyo Disney.

Snuggly Duckling Tumbler Set

Another exclusive Tangled item that you can purchase here is their Snuggly Duckling Tumbler Set.

This contains a Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival yellow tumbler, a Pascal stirrer and a rubber coaster with the Snuggly Duckling on it.

I swear the Disney Parks have me under a spell sometimes, as I bought this. But I don’t regret it, and I’ve used it every day since I got home.

In fact, I’m sipping from my Tangled tumbler right now at my desk! I highly recommend it as it adds a little whimsy to your daily life.

Is The Snuggly Duckling worth visiting?

If you love Tangled and want a fun and simple, no frills place to eat in Tokyo DisneySea, then I would say it’s worth visiting.

The beautiful theming alone is worth it. There are so many cute references for fans, and it feels like you’ve stepped inside the tavern from the movie.

The food isn’t remarkable; it’s just basic theme park fare of burgers and fries. But the price of the menu reflects this.

For many, including picky eaters, this is a perfect choice, especially as there’s a plant-based option.

However, there are far better choices for lunch or dinner nearby in Fantasy Springs, such as the Royal Banquet of Arendelle.

If you want to experience being in The Snuggly Duckling for the vibes, I would just pop in for a drink and a sweet treat and skip the mains.

You can then sing about your dreams without breaking your bank (or stomach).

Where is the Tangled Restaurant in Tokyo DisneySea?

You’ll find The Snuggly Duckling in the Tangled area of Tokyo DisneySea in Fantasy Springs. It’s called Rapunzel’s Forest.

You’ll instantly spot the Tangled Tavern perched underneath Rapunzel’s Tower.

Look out for the swinging Snuggly Duckling sign right outside.

The Snuggly Duckling opening times

The Tangled restaurant is typically open from 9 am – 9 pm daily, but these times may change depending on the day, season, or weather.

Remember, you can only visit with proof of a Mobile Order through the Tokyo Disney Resort App.

There will be cast members checking, so have your confirmation to hand when you go.

It’s also good to note that the last order time is usually around 8.30 pm.

My top tips for your visit

  • For a quieter experience, visit early in the morning or late in the evening. This restaurant is huge, but it often packs out.
  • It’s worth exploring each of the rooms to find all the fun Tangled references. Look out for Maximus & Pascal as marionettes.
  • The bathrooms are also worth checking out. There’s a collection of funny Flynn Rider wanted posters on the doors.

Rapunzel’s Forest in Fantasy Springs

After The Snuggly Duckling, there is only one more attraction to visit in Rapunzel’s forest.

You can see Rapunzel’s Tower just outside of the tavern, and this is part of the Tangled ride called Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival.

It’s a spectacular boat ride that takes you through your favourite scenes of the movie.

You can see Rapunzel singing in her tower, meet Flynn Rider and spot Maximus and Pascal.

Rapunzel's Lantern Festival Ride

The best part is sailing through the lantern festival, which felt like you were really there! I almost cried, it was so beautiful.

The only downside is that the ride is really short, and the queues for it can be really long. I’m talking 2 or even 3 hours every day.

So, I recommend securing/buying a fast pass through the Tokyo Disney Resort app.
