Turkey is such a fabulous destination to visit and its capital city is the only one in the world that straddles the two continents of Europe and Asia. Istanbul is one of my favourite cities and I’ve now been three times solo! The Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar all make it so exciting and I can’t get enough. I’m determined to visit more of Turkey one day. For now, let’s start planning your next magical adventure!

Things to know before visiting Turkey
- You do not need a visa for short tourist trips to Turkey. You can stay for a maximum of 90 days visa-free.
- Turkey is predominantly an Islamic country and you should dress moderately and respect local culture.
- Ladies should take a shawl to put over their heads when entering mosques.
- Turkey is generally a safe country to visit. That being said, petty theft does occur especially in Istanbul. So, be aware.
- I recommend an Istanbulkart to save money on attractions and transport! I DO NOT recommend the Istanbul e-Pass.
