Hey, digital planners. Did you know that you can decorate your planners with digital stickers?

Yes, that’s right and they are honestly one of the best parts of digital planning.

Now, if you have no idea what a digital sticker is. Don’t worry. All will be explained in this post.

But, what I will say is that they are A LOT of fun and make your planner look even prettier.

As a travel blogger, I often use my Digital Travel Planners to organise my trips. So, I like to use travel-themed stickers to decorate mine.

However, there are SO many options for any type of theme or occasion.

I won’t keep you waiting any longer. Here is how to use Digital Stickers and how to get your hands on a FREE Digital Sticker Pack.

How to use Digital Stickers Guide

What are Digital Stickers?

A Digital Sticker is a PNG file which is a high-quality image file type with a transparent background.

They make Digital Planning more fun as you can use them to decorate your digital planner as you would a traditional paper one.

You can import your stickers individually to decorate your digital planner or load them into a sticker book/page for safe-keeping!

How to download your FREE Digital Stickers

If you’ve never used digital stickers before, now is the best time to start!

You can buy digital stickers from places like Etsy or make them yourself but I’ve got some tea on where you can snag some for free.

At Third Eye Traveller, I’ve created a FREE digital sticker pack that is exclusive for my subscribers in my travel resource library.

All you have to do is sign up via the form below and you’ll get an email with the password to access them.

Don’t have a digital planner yet? Don’t worry, my resource library has a FREE Digital Notebook where you can easily play with digital stickers!

You can do so by following these easy steps:

  1. Once you download the files from my FREEBIE library, the sticker zip file will be located in the Files App of your tablet in the Downloads Folder (or wherever you send your downloads)
  2. Click on the Digital Sticker Zip file to unzip it and select the sticker folder that will appear.
  3. Now, you can choose your stickers by clicking the Select button on the top right corner and selecting the stickers you want.
  4. Click on the Share button and save the images to your Photo Library.

Using your Digital Stickers

So, now that we’ve imported our digital stickers. How do we actually use them on our digital planner?

  1. In Goodnotes/your note-taking app, you need to click on the photo icon.
  2. Select the sticker that you want to import.
  3. Alternatively, click on the link ‘Import from‘ to access the stickers in your file.
  4. The photo/sticker should now appear and you can place your sticker wherever you wish!

How to add images to Goodnotes

Editing Digital Stickers in Goodnotes

Now we have our stickers loaded, you can now place them wherever you wish. Here’s how:

  1. Once you have imported your sticker into your planner on Goodnotes, the image should be in edit mode. If not, select the image icon in Goodnotes and then select the sticker.
  2. This will open up the sticker in edit mode. From here you can re-size your sticker using the arrows.
  3. Or, you can drag your sticker to wherever you’d like to use it. You can also spin the sticker to whatever angle you choose.
  4. If you’d like to remove the sticker, simply click the red ‘x’ button in the top left-hand corner.
  5. Have fun decorating!

Things to keep in mind

  • Stickers can also be used in JPG format as long as the background doesn’t require it to be transparent i.e. square stickers
  • Every digital sticker will add weight to your planner! The more stickers you add, the more it will lag.
  • I recommend storing your stickers in a separate sticker book file and using only the stickers you want. That way, the parked ones you aren’t using won’t slow down your main planner.
  • When buying digital stickers always check that they are cropped PNG files and not specific to one app only like Goodnotes. If you use Goodnotes they will be great but if you use a different note-taking app like Noteshelf, your stickers won’t be compatible. Always read the small print.
